Home of the Savory Biscotti

Not all Biscotti are created equal.  Most people associate Biscotti with dessert, but in fact a whole other species of Biscotti exist, the Savory Biscotti.  Cracked black pepper, Parmesan, Olive Oil, fragrant herbs - These are the ingredients of the Savory Biscotti.

Why a Savory Biscotti?

Well, the answer for most people will probably be "because my grandma made them that way".  For those who have not been fortunate enough to have an Italian Grandmother baking Savory Biscotti for you, they are delightful with a coffee, or alongside a bottle of wine.  Good Savory Biscotti ooze with fragrance of Olive and herbs.

Some are twice baked, but many are once baked, but at high temperatures.  They can often be hard as a rock.  Read more about Biscotti History.

Salt and Pepper Cookies

Around Christmas time every year, my grandmother made something we called "Salt and Pepper Cookies".  They were hard as a rock, and the parents loved em, and the kids not so much.  Turns out, they were actually once baked Savory Biscotti that our family had nick named "Salt and Pepper Cookies".
